Borussia Dortmund's versatile defender, Julian Ryerson, has firmly shut down speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United.
Reports emerged recently suggesting that the English giants had made enquiries about the Norwegian international. Ryerson, who has a contract with Dortmund until 2028, has been a standout performer for the German club this season.
His impressive offensive contributions have not gone unnoticed, with Ryerson registering a remarkable 18 assists across all competitions. In the Bundesliga alone, he has provided 15 assists, positioning him among the league's elite playmakers.
When directly questioned about the transfer rumours, Ryerson responded with a dismissive tone. He emphasized that he has two years remaining on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund and is not contemplating a transfer away from the club.
These sentiments were echoed by Dortmund's sporting director, who publicly labelled such rumours as "complete nonsense," further reinforcing the club's stance on keeping their key player.
This is not the first time Ryerson has been the subject of transfer speculation. In December, he was linked with a move to FC Barcelona, with reports indicating the Spanish club was seeking an affordable backup option.
While a move to England was previously mooted, more recent speculation had suggested a preference for a switch to Serie A should he eventually depart from Dortmund. However, these latest comments from Ryerson himself appear to put an end to immediate transfer discussions.
Ryerson joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2023 from Union Berlin for an estimated fee of €5 million. Since his arrival, he has established himself as a regular starter, demonstrating his versatility by comfortably playing at either full-back position.
