Davide Ancelotti has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Ligue 1 side Lille, marking his second head coaching role.
The former Real Madrid assistant will succeed Bruno Genesio, who departed after guiding the team to a third-place finish and Champions League qualification.
Ancelotti, 36, brings continental experience from a stint in South America and is fluent in French, having previously worked in France with Paris Saint-Germain.
He leaves his role as Botafogo head coach, though he remains an assistant for the Brazilian national team. This appointment is a significant step in his managerial career.
At Lille, he inherits a club that has previously broken PSG's domestic dominance.
Ancelotti's immediate challenge will be preparing the team for the 2026-27 Champions League campaign and navigating the transfer window to strengthen the squad, aiming to compete with PSG.
