Hearts have formally lodged a complaint with the Scottish FA and SPFL regarding the controversial early termination of their crucial title-deciding match against Celtic.
The game, held at Celtic Park, was brought to an abrupt end after a significant pitch invasion by home supporters who were celebrating Callum McGregor's late stoppage-time goal.
Despite there being approximately 40 seconds of stoppage time still to be played, the SPFL made the decision to officially conclude the match at that point.
Hearts are strongly questioning this decision, asserting that it establishes a dangerous precedent where pitch invasions by fans can determine the duration of a match, overriding the authority of match officials.
The Edinburgh club also voiced their disapproval of Celtic manager Martin O'Neill's reaction, specifically his dismissal of concerns that the pitch invasion was embarrassing for Scottish football.
Adding to the club's grievances, Hearts reported instances of physical abuse directed at their players during the chaotic invasion. This unfortunate situation necessitated an immediate evacuation of the players and the cancellation of all post-match media and official duties.
The club has stated that they are thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding these disturbing events and are fully cooperating with the ongoing police inquiries.
