Crystal Palace has officially confirmed the appointment of former Lens head coach Pierre Sage, who has agreed to a three-year contract.
Sage, 47, will take the helm at Selhurst Park, succeeding Oliver Glasner. His official start date is set for July 6, giving him ample time to integrate with the squad and prepare for the commencement of pre-season training on July 10.
The French manager arrives in South London with a strong reputation, having previously enjoyed a successful period at Lens. During his tenure, he guided the club to an impressive second-place finish in Ligue 1 and secured their historic first-ever Coupe de France title.
Prior to his success with Lens, Sage also had a coaching spell with Lyon, further adding to his experience in French football. His move to the Premier League fulfills a long-held ambition, with Sage having openly described managing in England's top flight as his "dream."
Sage will be accompanied by his assistant, Jamal Alioui. However, the club has also confirmed that current coaching staff members Paddy McCarthy and Andy Quy will continue in their roles.
This strategic appointment is intended to foster both continuity and introduce innovative tactical approaches as Crystal Palace embarks on a new era.
The Eagles are gearing up for a significant season ahead, which will include participation in the Europa League.
This follows a successful period under Oliver Glasner, whose tenure notably included winning the Conference League title.
